Slave cylinder tube

Hi Scott,
Or anyone else who has a Subaru conversion with a Small Car bellhousing.

The other day, I noticed the hydraulic plastic tube, connected to the clutch
slave cylinder, hanging loose (see picture).
Normally the tube is fasten to the sub-frame out of the way.
I was told that this is because the slave cylinder is in a different spot -
it could not be done.
How is your set up?

Cheers,
Theo
Hi Theo,

Yes I had to remove the old fixing as the clutch fluid pipe when full of fluid is quite stiff and needs to have some flex.

The change in location by a couple of inches is enough to cause a kink if you fitted the old fixing.

I just cable tied mine to the other bits next to the fuel pump.

Its high up and out of the way - see photo looking forward along the passenger side under vehicle.

Should be fine there.

Cheers,

Skot

I have just order a flexible clutch hydraulic line from GoWesty to replace my old one moulded line before the zetec goes in this week.

I shortened the tube by about 50mm and used a head gun the form the new bend.

Thank you, another option, I will look into it.

Hi All,

The flexible Slave cylinder tube from GoWesty has arrived and been installed.

So much better to deal with than the old one.

I'd recommend it.

Hi Peter,

Good choice - out of harm’s way.
