Sliding door

Hi ,
Need advice - my Syncro sliding door pops open (door closes but pops loose whilst driving - does not slid open.Have tried adjusting the locking pin ,but to no avail.
Thx
Philippe
Check the easy stuff first Phillipe.

Bolts and screws often work loose on the sliding door.

The next most likely cause is that the rear latch is not closing properly.  If the pawl does not grip fully, the rear pops open, followed by the front.

Displaced rubber can also cause this.

Hi Philippe. I had the same problem april 2009 with my telstra van. Proved to be the rear latch as Les suggested. I posted my solution on april 24 2009 post no 5162. It still working well today. The problem was wear on the two stage securing hook as well as the shaft the hook rotates on. The fix was to file the round spots on the hooks and give the shaft a good wack with a punch to take the slop out. you will need to remove the lock to do this.Check the post it may help. Bill

Yes, I have had this problem for years on my ex Telstra, sometimes I get a couple of Km before it popps out from the closed position. A real irritant when on dusty roads.

Rosco in Grafton said the only long term solution was to replace the rear latch with new.

In the interim I will try other solutuions listed here.

Philip
