Some vanagon bits going dirt cheap in Sydney

Hey Everyone,

The ex-telstra syncro to westfalia project is going well. This is a
bit late notice but the 1980 donor LHD westfalia is soon to be sent to
scrap metal unless someone wants what's left. Some of these parts are
in dubious or unknown condition as described, but thought I would post
in case anyone is interested. One mans trash...

Would have some digital photos but my flatmates camera has flat
batteries. Van currently at Castle Hill. She's a little old and
rusty. Some of these parts e.g. engine will be lost unless person is
willing to pick up the van from Chipping Norton in 1-2 weeks time.
Don't want to have to pull off too much more stuff myself and you will
need to contact me soon if you are interested in anything.

---Parts left on 1980 LHD westfalia---
Air cooled motor. Apparently was reconditioned but has not been run
in 13 years!
gearbox
steering column / rack
heater
LHD dash
instrument cluster (have stolen some bits from it)
front blinkers
grill with minor break
suspension
old brakes (though I don't think you want them!)
old badges
some other miscellaneous bits.

---Also some parts off ex-telstra---
big steel bumper bar
cargo barrier
extra `step' for drivers door (few bits of strip metal welded together
and bolted underneath normal footstep. Thought it was useless and
ugly – get out the angle grinder and off it goes!)

Will post some other stuff I'm getting rid of in a few more months
like the old 3-way fridge.

Is there any other web places I should post this stuff?

Hope everyone is doing well.
Sam.
A question for all you Trakka Conversion owners, or if you have one
of those Origo stoves that run on Metho. What do you think of them?
In other words are they any good? They aren't as hot as gas but does
this matter?

I've gone right off high pressure type gas camping stoves. Have had a
couple of little problems so it is either a low pressure gas or one
of the Origo stoves.

Thankyou in advance for your replies.

Bruce,

Prior to the T3 Syncro, I ran a T2 which i converted to a pop top
camper. I bought a simple (low pressure) two burner + griller stove
and have used it ever since without a moments trouble. So long as
you have a serviceable regulator, they just seem to go forever, but
then I am still on the original regulator. It takes up a bit of
room but that seems to be a small price to pay for such outstanding
reliability, not to mention the fresh toast.
