spare wheel under front

The spring guide that acts as pivot for the underbody wheel holder has
two clips that seem to be missing from mine . This aloud the pivot to
vibrate out so spare was holding on by one pin and one bolt if the
other one had made its way out i think the bolt was not designed to
hold alone and would have droped the spare under the moving front
end .Not good *** Anyway has anyone checked their clips latley ???
Regards pete
Gday Pete,

Thanks for the info, this is news to me ... begs the question, what
clips and spring guide?

My wheel holder pivots comprise a piece of steel rod with a bend on one
end that just pushes in and the other one had a dodgy mild steel
threaded bolt and nut of too small a size. Funny thing is I still have
the wheel holder and undamaged.

If nothing else, using high tensile steel threaded bolts with at least 2
nuts each to self lock is a good idea.

Cheers. Ken
