Steering universal joint

Has anyone had issues with the steering universal joint?
I have power steering, am not sure if it is the same part on non-power steer models.

I replaced mine a few years ago (would be over 5 years at a guess). The “new” one is showing signs of play in the joint. Seem’s a fairly short life span for a part like this.

Not sure if there are different brands on the market, or if they are all the same?

I’m still running the original with power steering and no obvious movement issues.

However, I have had a lot of other things on so the syncro has been staring at the back wall of the garage for quite a while so far this year.

Thanks, Scott, yes, I would have expected they last much longer! My original failing, I could understand, but the replacement would be lucky to have done 40k km

Agree Richard, that is a short lifespan…they don’t make them like they used to!
