Swivel Seats

Hi all,
 
Whilst checking out some stuff on theSamba.com I found these swivel seat bases made specifically for T3's. They look the same if not very similar to the factory ones and they are made in Germany.
 
 
Might be worth it for those who want the proper swivel seat bases.

Rather expensive I'd say ..
though not for a new part, and also says out of stock.
 
you guys don't have T3's there with seat swivels in them ?
Any normal Westfalia Camper has them for both front seats.
I usually take out the driver's one...not much need for that seat to swivel.
I have one good used one I'd sell, but shipping from Oregon to Australia would be a bit I imagine.
 
also ..the seats that came in T3's with seat swivels are thinner on the bottom part ..
than seats that come in T3's without swiveling seats.
 
so when you put a late model GL seat on top of a swivel..
it comes out rather high., at least an inch higher.

We don't have Westfalia Campers here.

Scott,

But many of the local camping conversions used the genuine VW swivel seat bases.  It was a standard fitting on the TRAKKA Conversion, for example.  And yes, they did add a lot of height to an already high (compared with any car) seating position.

but we do have a smorgasboard of other Campers here ... not available upover.
