Are they the same shocks?
I thought the OME shocks were made here in au?
Perhaps as a group we should ask why there is such a price
discrepancy between the 2 sides of the Pacific Ocean?
With exchange rates as they are, surely we could get them shipped
from the US for less than $200 per set???
I think BenT uses UPS rather than the US postal service and they are
much cheaper. Is this correct Ben?

The shipping costs would be more than any savings.
So these would be for pick up only.

Cheers,

Andy,
It's the other way around. UPS cost more because of brokerage fees. US Postal Service (USPS) has no such fees.
I wondered about this too when Phil posted it. Why would it cost more than here when they come fom Australia?
Pricing strategy perhaps? Perhaps an even lower price is possible from here on a groups purchase. I'll ask around.

How about somebody else give ARB a call? Just in case this is an error.
Can you post here the link showing the syncro model Rancho shocks you
are referring to ... details and pricing etc. please. There are Rancho
sites in Oz to, but no syncro model shocks. TIA.

Ken,
Here's one for sale now from a member of the (US/worldwide) Syncro List. See copy below this email.

EMAIL COPY FOLLOWS:
Fellow listmembers, Got a brand new pair of Rancho 9-way adjustable rear shocks for sale--direct fit for our Syncros (model #RS 99118). Just requires
swapping mounting bushings from stock shocks. This model has been used by other listmembers with good results (see the archives). Originally retailed for ~$100 each.

I am not sure but I think that the Sachs ones are the rubbish ones.
There are two types of original shocks and one of them is a waste of time as they only last about 20,000kms. Many of them were replaced under warranty.

Yes, even the Boges ones are marginal at best for trail rides. They are fine for most street applications.
I just wanted to pass info along. I finally heard back from Steve at syncro.org. He said he has his hands full right now due to a possible move back to San Francisco. Did not get any specifics concerning reason why his prices seem lower than everyone else. I can only speculate that Steve has a lower overhead than the average retailer. When he was in SF, the whole syncro.org operation was run out of spare room in his house and the adjacent 1-car garage. Saves a ton of money on warehouse rentals.
