syncro camper on Carsales?

What do people think about the Camper on Carsales in Vic for $25,000?

Leighton
Over priced by about 7K is my opinion. I assume this is the one with 190ks on the clock. Greg

Greg,

Thanks for your opinion. Can I ask why and what makes it worth $18,000?

Given that you are new to the Syncro scene, I should not have been so brief.

At times of low supply and high demand, a well kept camper Syncro will easily bring $25K.   At times of slightly higher supply and slightly lower demand, $19-20K is what the market will bear.

I know that this search and wait period will probably be frustrating for you but there’s no avoiding it.  Fortunately for you, you are now a member of the Syncro_T3_Australia group and you can continuously increase you knowledge, this putting you in an ever better position to know what you are looking at.

Les,

Thanks again for the info. I am just trying to get an insight into what they are on the market for and what they really sell for? I have only looked at 3 syncros for sale to date and all campers that have been under $15,000. I have seen Syncros at Bar beach kombi fest and other VW shows etc. Did anyone buy John Dengates Syncro a Blue camper that was on carsales about two years ago? Does anyone know any history on the current camper on Carsales for $25,000?

Leighton,
You can thank your lucky stars you are looking for a Syncro in Aust as on a recent trip to Germany i looked at quite a few Syncros and they all had what we would call unacceptable rust issues from the salt and wet roads.

Mine will have cost me over 25000 by the time i get around to reg as i found it interstate. Best 25000 i ever spent.

This forum allowed me to buy it sight unseen as it had been recomended group members.

Did see one a few years ago for 35000 in a RV yard and mosty they are the most expensive place to shop for one? < They can see the value and have some knoledge of similarly capable vehicles pricing >

I believe the price of Syncros is rising slowly and a GOOD vehicle will hold or improve its value?
Good ones in USA are bringing big Dollars!!!!!
What is the most expensive Syncro sold in Aust in the last few years??
< Not counting NEW ONES >

Bob,
In reality, owning a syncro merely confers a caretaker status for the duration of their own "tour of duty". Caretakers never get back anything like what they put in, in terms of time and money expended. Not even close. So at selling time, easily the biggest beneficiary from that caretakers stewardship is the new owner.

Pete/Bob,

In 1990 I traded a 2yr old Syncro Transporter which cost $ 50000 at the time, with 32 000 km on it, for the Red Tristar demo with 60 000km and they made me pay 7000 on top.....

So did mine (and the wife's)

Phill

Pete,

This vehicle made it into every nook and cranny of OZ  and made the inland crossing East/West AND West/East

Journos didn’t want to part with the Syncro and on one of the trips the poor thing had to carry all the fuel for the Nissan/Toyotas.

It made it over all the sand dunes without being struck by Vanagon Syndrom...

It was a demo for about 2 yrs.
