syncro details

Hi all have just returned from Canada and now just down to one Double
cab
Syncro. Details of my Syncro Double Cab here in Australia. It is a
1989 model
with front & rear diff locks, factory tacho. This vehicle I believe
was a
demonstrator model to showcase the range of Syncro models. It was
featured
in Overlander magazine issue Aug 89. So the history sort of stops
there so I
figure that it has had a very hard life with journo's putting it
through its paces
and a hard private life. Since owning it I have rebuilt the whole
front end with
new bushes everywhere, including new front M struts, this has brought
the
vehicle back to new in regards to driving. Rear shocks replaced with
OME,
and the usaul maintenance issues, being solved with searching
everything
until the fault has been found. I also relaced the propshaft due to
it having
serious vibrations, and opted to order a rebuilt one from bernd
jaegar in
germany. The process was very easy and within 3weeks received the new
propshaft. Vibration is now gone. I use my syncro for work everyday
so it still
is getting a hard run. Some details on how many Syncro double cabs,
&
Syncro single cabs imported into Australia would be interesting to
know as
there are not many around, if anyone knows let us know or register
your
personal Syncro. Hope to hear from other owners. Mark

Mark…      What part of Australia are you in??   And what Colour is you D/cab??   Is it the Wunda-Bar-Jar??...Red One??....       In Perth….a single cab just arrived from Canada for farm use….L.hd Drive….but will be Licensed for road use..   Apart from that one…not many single cabs in WA..  The occasional Tri-star…..Some Pic’s of your VW would be good!!   How did you find your dealings with Bernd Jaegar…payment and customs??....

Regards Ken…WA   Perth..

Hi Ken my Dble cab is a white 3dr, not the tristar. Most dble cabs
here came
with 4doors, like the tristar. The one I sold in Canada recently was
a 1991
model in light grey, in immaculate condition and I had owned it for
8yrs while
living there. Are you the new owner of the single cab? I know of only
one
single cab in Sydney, and its in a conversion shop and thats from the
internet
searching. I am in Melbourne and dont know of any Syncro Dble cabs
around
here, there might be one or two? In regards to bernd Jaegar dealings
were
fine little bit slow with replys but at the time he had just come
back from a big
safari trip to Africa. The price he gives you includes the shipping
from
germany which comes through Australia post. Australian taxes are paid
at the
post office. I will use him again for items I cant get here or are
to expensive.
Hope to here from some more syncro owners and some photos would be
great. Ill put a photo in the photos section. Ken hope that helps a
bit let me
know if you need more info. Regards Mark
