Syncro Photos - www.syncro.com.au

HI Gary

I had done some captions, however, they were not appearing as I'd made too many rows of thumbnails.

Check it out again, now 2 columns / 3 rows and the captions are visible. They are not all finished yet.

Regards
Mark.

Hi Mark

The gallery is great and in a very short space of time you are getting a lot of info up on the site. It's great to see some other Aus syncros in action. Be nice if there was a caption so one knew the specs/details/trip info for each pic but only if it is easy to do. I recognised Roger's syncro in there and yours but found myself wondering who some of the others belonged to.

I don't have any problem with other info going up on the site. I'm sure if it is nicely organised it will be of use to syncro owners as well.

Great work again.

Fellow Aussie Syncronauts

Whilst the Yahoo group is great for discussion, it often doesn't serve well for photos.

To solve, Les and I have worked on created a new website upon which to place the best Australian Syncro photos.

The website will, over time, contain some specific Syncro resources, and ultimately details of how to join the Yahoo Syncro Group. It will be easier to hand out the www.syncro.com.au address, rather than the http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Syncro_T3_Australia/ address

We need your help to place resources online specific to Australia, including:

- great Aussie Syncro photos
- campsites
- Brochures / Articles of interest
- Aussie Syncro videos
- anything you think may be of interest to Syncro owners and enthusiasts (future enthusiasts)

Not everything is up there yet as we need both (a) more time and (b) submissions and ideas from this group. However, we've placed online now due to requests to look at the photos of the 2 16" Syncros in Melbourne. I thought I'd also get some other content up for inspiration.

Feedback welcome

Mark & Les.

facility, be it at hotmail, gmail, yahoo or whatever you normally use.
Of course the syncro posts and any attachments can only end up in your

Now if that isn't your problem ........ then no ... I have no other

Gary,

The Yahoo group is forum based, with additional functions for storage and access to data and pictures.

The www.syncro.com.au website is designed from scratch to carry data and pictures (plus other things) but with no forum function.

What content it eventually carries will be dictated largely by what the existing Syncro_T3_Australia members think would be valuable.  The common ground between the Syncro_T3_Australia group and the www.syncro,com.au site is the Syncro itself and the common need to keep our Syncros on the road.  Let's see what develops.

Les

Mark,

Just a few comments.

As distinct from new users to the syncro website, returning regular
users would appreciate a "what's new" section, thereby avoiding the need
to search through the whole site for new content. Would it be possible
to compartmentalise new content separately for say a month or so then
file it after to wherever it belongs?

As our Syncro forum is predominantly aussie flavoured, I like the idea
that, in the main, (Mark, there is your loophole out haha) the new
website plays a similar and complimentary aussie flavoured role to that
forum. A case of proud to be distinctively aussie ... yes?

There appear to be a number of photos that are placed in the local as
well as the international sections. Deliberate?

Les,

Thank you for the large format photos .. all present and correct. It's
terrific to be able to zoom in and not go so blocky eh.

Cheers.

Ken

Thanks for the feedback. The site design and architecture is not finished - in fact the overall design is somewhat temporary.

There will be a what's new section (news) with RSS feed so you can alerted to changes without visiting the site.

Also, there will be additional galleries.

We chose to put a few local photos in the International, as a number of international visitors will also no doubt check that out, and Australia is international to such visitors..

Yes, the idea will be to be predominantly Aussie flavoured and not dupe content too much.

Regards
Mark.
