Syncro search 2022

This is a really nice one and being sold by a very experienced VW nutter from the mid north coast NSW.

Not sure if you have facebook but its a syncro camper with A/C, trakka camper and rear diff-lock.

Looks good…Redirecting...

Cant see any rust from the photos and its very straight.

Seems to tick all the boxes…

Sorry, a couple of rust spots only:

They are minor looking.

A little bit in the seam above the awning side bracket:

Also a spat missing (I have one of these spare)

A little bit around the upper main awning bracket:

Yep already know about this one had the photos for awhile after speaking to the owner. Not sure when I can get there. Through rust in the front isn’t great but it’s the youngest van I’ve come across. Probably be sold by the end of the day :joy:

Looks pretty fair to me.

Andy, that’s probably the best one which have been offered so far, also price wise.
You should jump on imo, that little bit of rust is really minor. Genuine van and bone stock, the best base to fulfil your goals and make it the way you want it.
And being a NSW based one, even better

Cheers

Yeah we’ve already masticated about this one before.
Well … this example of rust damage is why I’ve always resisted installing an awning. Hard to know just from the pic, how far its gone in
Looks like it’s been living/parked outside in all weather and in proximity to the salt laden ocean atmosphere … sadly explains a lot!

But I agree with some reservation, it’s a pretty complete package … except for the rust, maybe haggle over the rust issues for a keener selling price?
Also, how much rego is left is a haggle point.
14" wheels … hhmmmmmmmm, good and bad.

HAPPY DAYS!!! The TRAKKA VIN compliance plate IS IN PLACE!!! … vertical surface in drivers step.

Agree about the awning Ken. Part of the issues I am having fixed with my major roof refurb.
Cheers, Peter

Raymond is a nice bloke and I bought a 71 bus off him about 15 years ago which he showed me everything he could possible show me regarding rust.

My 71 lowie had quite a lot of rot but fixable yet this syncro has very minor rust that could easily be fixed with a sandblaster and touch up paint (mostly - maybe the front needs a tiny bit of welding but all others should be easy fixes).

Raymond even delivered my 71 on a trailer being towed behind his dual cab 2wd T3 ute.

I’ve looked at the photos on my MAC at home and sadly I think the rust is more significant than show’s up on regular screen, but does tick a lot of boxes. I think rego is until November.

He’s been good to deal with.

So this TRAKKA is just down the road from new member Matt. Wonder if Matt could check it out for Andy?

Also, possible it may be at Valla in a few weeks time with a FOR SALE sign on it.

I would say it will be sold before Valla starts unfortunately.

They don’t hang around long at that price.

Both Raymond and Matt are KombiClub members.

Andy, as Ken pointed out I can inspect the vehicle if you wish, that’s not a problem, except presently I’m visiting family in Perth & want be home until 12/7/22.

I’ll keep playing matchmaker!

Maybe Andy would be interested in Matts 15" rims for sale, if he bought the TRAKKA with present 14" rims?

Just saying these are 15" wheels

Thinking Matt meant “Rims For Sale”, not Wheels.
Sale spec details rims only with pic, no mention of tyres or their spec nor pic.

Wager London to a brick? HA!

Thanks for the offer see whether it’s still available by then but I doubt it.

Andy, seeing the rust as depicted in the photos and presumably the Syncro has lived a life close to salty air and considering that your Mac showed up more rust, it most likely is not the Syncro for you. I have seen T2s and T3s with similar rust patterns and then later seen them again as the previously unseen rust bubbled its way through the paintwork, especially in the seams. If the rust originates from poor drainage or rubber sealing (not corrosive salt) then usually it is containable to that location, so can be rectified, whereas salt origination generally will continually pop up at various locations, just like a cancer.
