Syncro water pump

Has anyone had any recent need to purchase a replacement water pump for their Syncro? Mine has decided to pack it in, the second one to do so since I have owned the vehicle.
Just Campers can get them on 'special order' but I was hoping to find an Australian 'in stock' supplier. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Jon,

Alan Atkins at Stokers VW Parts     http://www.stokersvwparts.com.au/        normally has most Syncro bits & pieces & i haven't seen him mentioned in any post over the last few years.  Can be a bit expensive but whats your bus worth in the long run.

Al was a great mechanic but unfortunately retired a few years ago & my Syncro was his last job in the garage. I've done my own work since then.

Hope his helps

    Cheers     Dave Cash
Dave,
Did Alan rebuild your syncro transmission and to your satisfaction?

Any competent engineering outfit can easily recondition your old waterpump as long as the impeller and housing are not corroded. Failing that, most independent VW parts suppliers carry them in stock. Tooley Imports in Sydney are a good place to start.

Ken,

He didn't touch the transmission, that was done in Sydney by the previous owner. It jumps out of gear in reverse down hill which i don't enjoy.

Dave
Got mine from tooleys. Was 80ish bucks and they usually put things in a ten dollar post bag. It was hepu brand  but that was a year ago. Greg E

Jon,

Oh ok then .... no ideas for you locally.

I agree with Roger ... Tooley Imports at Waitara in Sydney would ship it to you.

Cheers.
