tailshaft orientation

I forgot to take notes when I installed my cheaparse de-coupler (take the tailshaft out)
Could someone inform me whether the rubber bit goes forward or aft?
This information would be dearly treasured.
Campbell.
Gday Campbell,

The rubber bit is closest to the engine end. Ideally you would also have
put paint marks on the mating flanges at both ends so you could
re-install the mating flanges again to what it was before ... may help
to avoid vibrations being introduced. Otherwise, suck it and see.

Can you please tell me about your cheaparse decoupler as I'm interested
in doing such a thing. Cheers.

Ken

My cheaparse decoupler involves taking the tailshaft off!

when I go on a big trip I put it back on. I have had new uni's put on and balanced, but I
don't think it is balanced that well but if I am only putting it on for sand and the like then
who cares! Thankyou for that info. I had the vanagon syndrome wire installed and though I
havent driven anywhere long it does idle and start nicely. Ta.
