a rebuilt g-box with locker is around the $4500+ mark, depending on availiability, I would
have thought a front diff ( thats what it is , a gear box has , like, gears in it ) sans visco,
and not a locker, would be worth, IMO, $200 - $500. as they seldom need replacing, the
only reason I would replace mine was for a locker, anything else I'd replace the offending
part ie bearings or R+P. A friend of mine imported, from Europe, a locker front diff case
and internals including a new vac unit, not including R+P or visco for less than AU $900-.
Then again some people might be prepared to pay more for what they consider rare and
desireable.

Steve.
Ok fair enough...
Understand it is a diff/viscous unit.
I appreciate your attitude as a learner syncro owner it is apparent
that U seem to know it all. Yes U probably know more than I but the
arrogance of attitude is well, childish.
And no I aint selling U my front gearbox/diff for 500 bucks.
As I am informed; replacing the crown and pinion in front end is
anywhere between 16-1800 dollars plus labour, so I guess I got a spare.
In which case Iwould have thought that a entire front diff minus
viscous is worth a little more than a new crown and pinion unless
someone wants to spend 4500 on rebuild.

Sorry, I don't want to purchase your front diff.

In your own words and I quote,

"What is a working 5.43 / 38.7 ratio 6N??, Model front Gearbox worth to u guys. Throw

I have responded to your post as requested, I have given you my frank and honest opinion,
I note that you were looking for " REAL numbers "

Steve.
Apology accepted as it was a litle insulting to have info dumbed down
to the grade of juvenille.
Back on subject how is it that a crown and pinion can cost so much yet
the whole diff is so inexpensive???
Mind u i have not and dont really want to rip down the front diff, but
one would presume buying the whole thing and throwing it underneath is
in some cases a better option.
Supply and demand...
