thermo fan

Hey Guys
The fan works with hot wire to fan motor, checked the switch and it
has three wires so is fan 2 speed? Sorry i dont have a manual. should
there be any problem with bridging switchwires at radiator to check if
switch has falt? The switch just makes the circuit?It appears that the
aircon conects to all three wires 100mm from switch,
Question is why three wires ?Does temp gauge opperate from thermo
housing?

Yes, the fan is two speed and the air conditioner can also start the fan on high speed to deal with the extra thermal load of the condenser.

That could explain my falt, perhaps low speed is no more,
The falt came to light as the fan cuts in on my drive home but last
week it did not!! My fan is always going when i get out at the front
door to my home. I dont want to heat it up to try the high speed
function but i will let the group know what failed when i work it out!!!!
