Hi Peter,
Two months out, I decided to run this idea up the flagpole now, as a starting point.

If  it proves to be of little interest, then no need for US to research a range of likely free camping sites, say for example, anywhere between Uralla in the north (near Raleigh Raceway, down to south of Macksville. Be a sort of convenient moving fest, experience different sites, raceway, scenery, inland, seaboard, whatever takes our fancy. People can join in whenever, tagalong as a group or freelance, or both ... whatever.

If it proves there is enough interest in committing, then I thought well then lets combine any local knowledge from participants plus research via Google maps plus free campsite publications etc from ALL nutters involved and see what we can come up with. I don't particularly expect nor want one fixed location for whatever duration each participant will plan to be there for.

So in short, replying to your question ... no

This is what Yahoo say to do to get emails to show photos.

Give it a try if you currently cant see photos.

Attachment settings in Yahoo Groups

If you're a group owner or moderator with privileges to change group settings, you can change how attachments are distributed to group members.

Attachment settings

  1. Sign in to Yahoo Groups.
  2. Go to the group you want to update.
  3. Click Management | Control Panel.
  4. To the right of "Email Preferences," you can manage the types of email that can be sent.
    • Plain Text -- HTML can't be included in email messages, and files can't be included in email or Web messages
    • HTML - No Attachments -- Files can't be attached to email or Web messages
    • HTML - Include Attachments as links -- Files are not attached to emails, but are stored on the group's "Files" page. Links to these files on the "Files" page are sent in email, instead of attachments
    • HTML - Include Attachments in Email -- Files can be attached to both email and Web messages

      • Note: HTML can still be posted in messages when attachments are turned off.

  5. Click Save.

Are you missing access to these options in the Control Panel? Group owners and moderators have the ability to restrict access to certain sections of their groups. You can request access by contacting your group's owner or moderator directly.

Excuse my ignorance but where do you find the "management" icon? I've had a look but can't seem to locate it

Hi Andy,

If you go into the main page of the group site in yahoo - the management is along the top line to the far right of the screen.

Then just follow the instructions listed.

Andy,

Click on the purple "VISIT YOUR GROUP" words below the Yahoo mail icon just down from this email.

It takes you to the main page.

At the heading line it says CONVERSATIONS PHOTOS FILES About More then there is a gap to the right and it says Membership then Management then ?

Its kind of the top line of our page.

Try clicking on that.

 I thought that was the area you meant, and there lies the problem! My options are CONVERSATIONS   PHOTOS   FILES  MORE big gap MEMBERSHIP no MANAGEMENT. No idea why! Never mind I'll live with it the way it is, I don't want to waste any more of anyones time. I'll just get someone to describe any images I'm interested in!

I assumed that was to allow you to manage your own options.

I cant change it for anyone else that I am aware of so not sure why you cant see it?

Yeah my yahoo interface is likely the same as Andy's, so no management facility showing at TRHC.


MAYBE, the difference between yours Scott and ours, is that you are running the latest Yahoo products/interface that then shows a management facility. So Andy and I need to decide whether to download the latest Yahoo gear available here:   Goto: https://downloads.yahoo.com/


Be that as it may Scott, it seems to me on re-reading your first post today on this topic, the "Attachment Settings" steps shown is what's only available to an admin of syncro forum, not just a member.


So if a member wants a particular change, then said member needs first to email the admin with a request. If I'm wrong on all this, I stand corrected.
