Hi all,
Anyone heading up to Valla Beach Resort for the VW Spectacular from 31st July this year?
Should be a great event as usual.
A huge mix of old and new VWs in the event plus markets, swap meet etc.
I’m keen.

Hi Scott.
Thanks for the reminder.
We might becoming through.
Great to hear Gerry.
I spoke to Peter today and he said he is heading up for the cruise from Valla to Nambucca and back for the markets/ swap meet.
Lucky Phil is coming up as well.
See you both there!
Hey Scott, I was hoping to make the trip, but the Syncro needs a little TLC I have not gotten around to doing yet.
If I have time, I might still do a run down (not in a VW unfortunately)
Richard
No problem Richard.
Its a fantastic VW based weekend campout event - yet I hear the weather may not be very suitable this year.
This years weather has managed to wash out a pile of events including a few VW events.
I’m still crazy enough to go.
See you there.
I’m heading up today in my blue syncro camper along with my brother who is heading up in his T4 syncro.
See everyone up there.
Cheers,
Scott
Great work Scott!
Gave the Syncro a service today, looking to head down early Saturday morning.
Richard
We expect lots of pictures…
T3s that is.
Hi All,
Valla was a fantastic weekend and I only just returned.
My phone reception was terrible so I could view let along upload any photos.
Anyway, quite a few syncros were there including Theo’s old syncro (Owned now by Bodo from Qld) plus a dual cab 2wd converted to syncro by Luke Pell, Ricks syncro, Martins syncro, Richards syncro,Ian’s gadget filled green syncro plus at least three T4 syncros.
Quite a few very lifted bays including dual cab utes.
Loads of VWs from all aspects and quite a few nice 2wd T3s.
Mark Kofals T3 westfalia California was there and a variety of T6 4 Motion campers.
We had to try and fix Rafael’s 2wd Caravelle 2wd as it has overheated after splitting a hose, then the water pump failed and the Temp 1 sensor O ring leaked as well.
The water pump was replaced successfully all day Sunday along with several other parts using a multitude of tools from various people and a plethora of donated parts from Rick.
Unfortunately, the Caravelle was too unwell to drive several hours back to Surfers Paradise so it will be packed up some time today or tomorrow by trailer.
Another fantastic VW weekend!
Scott
Sorry Peter,
I didnt get any at Nambucca street parade unfortunately.
Which means I didnt get you and Annie.
For the record Peter was there for the day on Saturday and as usual - great to catch up.
Do you have any more photos Peter?
Thanks,
Scott
PS I apologise to anyone I forgot.
Thanks for sending.
Love the photos Scott.
And great weather.
Was a great catch up Scott, and yes a great mix of T3’s. Love to see the aircooled ones out. Might be an upgrade for the T3’s with failing cooling systems
I dropped Rafael to his place late Sunday night, haven’t heard if he’s headed back down with a trailer yet.
Yes as usual the Valla event is great.
I feel sorry for poor Rafael with his van situation, yet I think we did help him out a lot -particularly you, Martin and Rick who supplied all the parts. Was fun being part of it -even though I didnt contribute much apart from smart ass comments.
The van was still there on Monday morning at 9am when I departed.
I’ve not heard if he has it back yet, I’ll see on the week end how he went.
Yes it was certainly a group effort!
