% increase. A new 70 series GXL Troopie from Toyota costs around 78K so apples and oranges really and I really don’t know why I’m making these theoretical comparisons 
Perhaps that is what a new Syncro would cost Hypothetically… My neighbour owned a troupie and he did some work on my van with me and he commented on how the VW parts in general on my van were much better quality than his newer jap made Troopie!
Yes I agree with that Ken. My post was intended as tougue in cheek😀. That van looks great! The investment is in memories and fun times had. Not to horde them and try to make money it’s a bad investment. My point is if there was a modern T3 Syncro equivalence from the Factory Im pretty sure it would cost about as much as A troupie for the base model, with some basic options as such. People who spend a lot on their vans won’t get the money back. But you get the usage value of your updated platform if you make meaningful improvements, it up to you. For personal use It’s a viable option for some owners. The heart rules the head with cars always!.. Any basket of goods brought in 1990 is now 100% more expensive today. Fun Fact! So in today’s money that is what our vans costed new. Since there’s is no replacement for the T3 Syncro I would say that van represents fair value to the right buyer. It depends what the market is willing to pay.
