VW Mechanics in NW of WA

Hi Guys,

I am going on a trip to the north of WA returning to Perth via Alice Springs and the back roads. Does anyone know of any mechanics that know anything about VW's and particularly Syncros who live in the North of WA and also in Alice Springs.

Cheers,

Dave WA

Dave,

That’s unlikely.  Even the main population centres are very sparsely populated with workshops with Syncro knowledge.  If you are starting from Perth, there are a couple of mechanics there who could probably give the vehicle a proper look-over.  The local (WA) members should b able to advise you.

Les

Les,

Thanks for the comment.  I use Patrick Hugi at Mosman Park Autocare to keep my Syncro running in the best possible way.  Patrick is a VW factory trained mechanic who is also a Syncro owner.  Could you add his name to the list of mechanics on the website, I have known him for many years and find him to always be very helpful.  His address is 674 Stirling Highway Mosman Park 6012 and phone number is 08 9384 0231.

On one of my previous trips I was in Victoria near Lakes Entrance when one of the oil pressure transducers failed letting oil pour out of the engine.  A local told me about a farmer who serviced VW Kombi vans and this guy sourced the part and had me back on the road within a couple of days.  I now carry spare transducers.  So you never know who might be out in the bush who knows something about VWs.

Cheers,

Dave.

Dave. One of our members, Sebastian, manages a remote store north of Alice and on the way into the simpson desert. Might be worth contacting. Bill
