Marc,  rang Mueller they said no longer available and you have to make your own- really anything you find there would do, as long as you have access to some tooling and a bit of pipe with the rigth dia. ..... I have a spare used water manifold which you can use - posting it to you this morning. I am off with my Syncro on an expedition to Lake Eyre tomorrow and will be away for about 5 weeks. Will catch up with you after the trip.

I think it is a 251 121 442A which is part number 25 on the attachment.

Would everyone please download and save this attachment to save confusion in future. Put it on a flash drive so that you can carry it whith you and access it from any public computer and print it. Then you can email or fax it anywhere in the world to any language an they will know what you are talking about.

Even better, get the complete pdf parts listing on disk with a Bentley and keep them in your syncro.

Phill,
It'd be interesting to learn the exact nature of the break in this hard plastic manifold. Being caught out far from home, I would have thought at least carrying a small range of adhesives, bonding agents, sealer tapes etc., would be essential gear to have onboard. Give oneself something to while away the time when the surf is flat. Well that's what I'd aim to do anyway. Unless of course the manifold has totally disintegrated and beyond repair.

Coming into this thread late because I've been away all week. Can someone confirm if the manifold in question is the one in the attached photo? The OEM supplier of these sells them outside VW but obliterates the VW part numbers when sold outside of normal channels. If this is the one, these are still quite plentiful as far as the US is concerned. Lists for about US$50.
