water manifold

Hi Folks,

made it back from 2500 km round trip thanks to Yurik's spare water manifold. Our initial repair lasted about 600 km before the soldering job cracked. I repaired again and thought that I may make it back to Perth. With the spare one finally on board we set off back to Perth. 30 km later warning light again ! As I removed it the manifold disintegrated in two new places. I reckon they're best replaced after about 100,000 kms.
There's a couple of pics attached for reference.
Some highlights of the breakdown..
- Being towed at 120 kmh at night with a trailer behind.
- The Aussies at the roadhouse who threw in their ideas and that incredibly dry laconic humour.  " yeah you'll enjoy ya two week stay here waitin for that part "
-The joy of sitting on top of a sand dune in the desert hoping for a signal to get through
so you can work out how to get out of there...
- The message from Yurik saying a part was on the way !

How much for one of the stainless versions Ben ?

Mark,

GoWesty sells them for $89. I'll bet I know the fellow who builds them. Will check what sort of price he can do for group purchase.

Gday Mark and ALL,

Out in the boondocks and stranded with a problem, this is worth having in your repair kit ....

goto: http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php

I bought J-B WELD epoxy from Bursons, most other auto parts outlets probably don't stock it.

Cheers.

Ken
