What is the difference between Kombi and VE nuts?

Not sure what the difference is. It's just that I had only recently changed my rims from alloy to merc steel that I discovered that VE nuts fit the thred perfectly..

The thread might be the same but what about the seat? I think merc rims have the small ball seat. I don't know what ve use but if they use conical seats it will not be correct. Try this guy if ve ones don't work out. Greg E

The VW nuts have a conical face and the Merc ones have a taper on the face of the nut to match up with the rim taper

When i put merc rims on mine I bought a set of nuts from Just Kampers that had a tapered face. They were a reasonable match.

They went rusty pretty quickly though!

Philippe, do you have steels or alloys? Maybe take a photo of the seat. Greg E

The just kampers cone taper nuts are for genuine VW alloys and maybe some Audi and Mercedes alloys.
Steel wheels (and some alloys) require a ball taper. The VW steel wheels are 14mm ball taper. Most (not all) Mercedes steel wheels require a special 12mm ball taper nut with a 14mm thread like the Mefro or the T3 Technique nuts.
