Hi all,
Anyone know of wheels/tires for sale? My tires are up for replacement (running 215/75R15) which I’m happy with. My old Merc rims need replacing also.
Before I go looking around, wondering if anyone had anything for sale? I do have 4 Tiguan rims I’ve never fitted, so could fit 16" tires onto these rims.
Looking for something for off road use, if I’m not going off road, I usually put the stock rims back on (with commercial rated tires on)
Thanks
Richard
Those Tiguan rims are popular, yet I don’t know their offset and whether anything is required to the centre bore or the hole size?
Mercedes wheels are very suitable as they have the correct bolt pattern and large centre bore, yet usually need the lug holes bored to allow T3 studs to fit. The alloys require longer studs usually depending on what you already have.
Tyres are another animal all together…so many opinions there but my BFG KO2s are still rolling nicely.
I just bought Bridgestone duelers AT697. 215x75x15. They had a 4 for 3 offer going. I have seen a few merc wheels for sale but they always seem to have the wrong ET for our vans.

Thanks Peter , I see BF Goodrich K03 and Yokohama Geolander are just over $100ea
215 70 R16 should be similar diameter and fit the Tiguan rims

I like the Geolander they’re quiet and probably good fuel efficiency. I’ve had Audi 15" rims that needed the centre drilling about 10mm in and 10mm radius. I had them powder coated.

Hi Philip. What is the ET on those rims? Cheers
Thanks all. Those Audi rims look nice, especially with the powder coating.
I’m still running my old Merc rims (off my T2), 215/75R15. The Yokohama’s are on currently, the Hankook are the old tires (I carry as an extra spare). The Hankook were actually nice tires, but not available when I got a flat.
They are the wrong offset though, so need new rims also. They do fit fine with no modification other than the (stock VW) wheel nuts have a different radius to the Merc rims, so I re-shaped the rim to fit.

I picked these rims up ages ago, and like the face they are 16". If nothing else comes up, I’ll use these.
Scott, yes these need a small chamfer on the inside edge of the centre hole to fit on the front. Have not check stud lengths yet (but do have the correct wheel nuts for them)
The are ET33, so not an exact fit.
The K02 (and K03) seem reasonably priced, as do the Geolander.
Original 14" tires are diameter 683.6mm.
The tires I have are 703.5
215/70R16 are 707.4, so they should not have clearance issues.
