Access to Radio

Ken,

I want to change my radio and you recently mentioned accessing your radio.   Which way did you get the access?  Top?   Underneath?

Les

Les,

Take the ash tray out first then the glove box.

Hey Michael, I put exactly the same radio in mine. With some nice Sony X Plod speakers as well. Not too hard to do but it was a tight fit at the back. Did like Phil said, took out the ashtray and then the glove box. Also worth taking Ken’s advice on checking that the heater cable is clear at the back. I have kept the original VW radio with cassette. You never know, they could come back one day!!!!!

Cheers, Peter from Port M.

Yeh they might make a comeback....vinyl did!!!!!I had no troubles with fitment interference to the cables,it all sat next to the stereo very well! I put some Bose 301 speakers under the back seat...sounds sweet with the Xplod in the front!!! I feel young again....

We now need to replace our Sony Xplod bluetooth CD stereo as it wont allow CD's to enter anymore and is about 2 years out of warranty.

I dont think they like corrugated roads much.

Our next one will have the USB port to plug in an IPOD as they dont jump even when bouncing over large bumps.

I use the USB slot all the time now Scot. CDs are becoming redundant. The Sony I have even takes over the iPod/iPhone when plugged into the USB slot and you can control them from the radio buttons. Groovy stuff. I wonder if a big sub woofer in the back would work so I can cruise down Horton St with doof doof music going. Not quite in keeping with the Syncro brand perhaps!!!!

Cheers, Peter

I concur there Peter.

My wife informed me that my eldest niece who is now 16 thought my syncro was not cool enough to be recognised in and ducked her head when she saw her friends in the streets of Port Macquarie.

Kids these days???

Instead of doof doof, may I suggest Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries at about 140db – more in character than today’s noise and completely in character with the T3 Syncro!

THANK YOU LES !!

Have to dig out the disk , think it was a shellac  - no vinyls in MY prime ! Have to ask Peter o P. to load it for me onto some sort of stick or whatever timber they use so that I can blast it through my cab....

Just returned from an awesome Syncro Trip in company of Ken. We toured the Hinterland of Pot (hole) Macquarie with amazing tracks.. like the closed Koppin Yarrad Rd (2200 $ fine for anyone using it,

I believe) Simply a sensational experience. As was the ever so steep climb to the Comboyne Bush Fire Lookout, (also closed to normal rate payers). Hope that Ken can upload some pix.

Ben – Skot –thanks for the flowers,  yes ,I will gladly will lead you over Koppin Yarrad  (scare track), just don’t look at the sedan hanging in the trees , abandoned, swinging in the wind some 100m over nothingness.... we need lunch after this at Comboyne before we tackle the Comboyne Mountain , and if Ben makes it up there with the subbi we shall indulge in champus once on top......

The parking spot in the sky can allow  5 to 6 Syncros so hopefully Ken will join us.
