DC or single cab T3 wtb syncro or 2wd

Hello fellow VW enthusiasts
I am in the market for a DC or SC T3 syncro or 2wd
has anyone got one or know of one that is for sale ?
I have seen the one on ebay and it looks really good but I don`t want an auto
Cheers
I've got one for sale and know a few others also on the market also. The problem is we are on a totally different continent. ;-)

Phill,

One of these has the wheel on the wrong side! Imagine me trying to shift with my left hand. What were these people thinking?!

I would imagine since the vast majority of the world are right-handed, that the application of pulling force on the emergency brakes are best done with the right hand. Doesn't that mean you wrong way driver's are less safe?

I am just thinking out loud.;-)

Aaron,

Unfortunately, this is largely true.  They were never brought in to Australia in more than a trickle.

That said, they do appear on the market from time to time and about the only way to find them is to search the car sales sites several time every week.

The alternative is importation from Europe. We never officially got the T3 Doublecabs or Singlecabs in the US either. Yet a half dozen found their way through my hands over the years including a pair of RHD's. There's probably no less than two dozens Dokas within 15 mile radius of my location.

It's costlier to import for obvious reasons. But then the selection is greater in Germany. Somewhat more limited are the RHD (aka T25) from the UK. Which, unfortunately, is the easiest way to get a RHD.

You can also take a 2wd with an auto and "Syncronize" it. While it is not an easy operation to the less mechanically inclined, it is another option. Ironically, I took a Doublecab with a 2wd 4-speed and converted it to auto for easier driving in the streets of San Francisco. I would have loved to get a RHD Doka with an auto. That part of shifting, I can manage.

What about that white D/C Syncro which was parked in yard of Stokers Siding Garage for years?  I bet it is still standing somewhere, by now it would be a very major resto but worth it  I  think.

Gary has closed the repair shop but is still dealing in spare parts. Haven’t got his phone # but he advertises in the VWMA mag.   Hartmut or Hartis(home is where the Hartis). Good luck with your search...

Skot,

Very good buy indeed , pity my garage is full. And a 4 door on top of it, very rare. I know the vehicle from Brookvale times, our bus. in Winbourne Road was just 200m further up and I often escaped to Beetle Wreckers. .....   Hart
