Wow! 50 dc syncros were imported to oz! I've only seen 2 dc syncros here in Thailand.

Wish I could have one with 16"!

I think we all wouldn't say no to one of those lovely vehicles.
 
But I would suggest that not all of those 50 are still alive here today - a few were loved and a few were worked to the bone.

I have a seen a green one working on road construction sites here in Port M with the customary yellow flashing light installed on top.

 

It has snuck in under our radar. We have no idea who owns it. I just mention it because it is rare to see one actually being used as a workhorse given you much we value them!!!!

Received my first parcel from Florian  WHAT A TREAT  !!  Can’t wait for balance of the de-coupler.  Been a steal really not only cheap ‘cause of our rate of exchange but also he throws in the P/P which will be another $  US/AUS  100.- saved.

 

Com’on guys and gals  get into gear and order yours for Christmas, it can save you a gearbox rebuilt....brrrrrrr

       What year is your Mk111?

I have an adaptor for mine that uses a VW TDI starter from 1996 to 2003. The only trouble is the part no. I have is USA Bosch SRO408X/409X which doesn't relate to any Bosch Nos. here. 

I think my High Torque starter has died so I was looking for a TDI starter. Not yours......... just the Bosch no. on it. If there is one.

Or any solution welcome..

Try getting it repaired. A lot of bits are interchangeable.

Peter / Hart - would love to see a photo of the Green Syncro DC with flashing lights :-)

I corresponded with Gavin who is selling the Dual Cab and these are the others that he has seen

Wolfsberg Motors have done all the regular servicing, and believe due to the rarity of these DCs and this ones condition, that it is worth the money.

I have someone from Newcastle coming down this weekend to check it out. If it sells, and you don’t mind, I can introduce you to each other.

The only other DC Syncros that I have seen in NSW were:

a green one sold and resold by Muller

a yellow one sold in Byron Bay about 5 years ago for 23K with a canopy

another green one that a German guy has nicely tricked out

a white one like mine that an engineer in Canberra sold to an architect friend of mine in Sydney who kept it for 8 years before passing it on to one of his employees who moved to Qld.
