Hey Ben,
GoWesty is famous for their pricing even in Europe :))) Let's say the
$80 are ok, but the quoted shipping fee is way beyond it seems to me.
I guess they really just look up in their lists and that's it. No
flexibility with shipping service... I looked it up at German Postal
Service / DHL and they charge something around 80 EUR for 20kg to OZ,
plus 20 EUR for oversize. I guess you can find similar offers in the
US, too. If you can get your hands on a grill more easily, do it... I
just remember selling a good grill including the square lights and the
emblem for 135 EUR only this summer.............. I guess i should
have sold it to OZ and get a paintjob for my bus afterwards :D

Hey Martin,
The one issue I can think of selling your set-up in OZ are the lights. The e-code lowbeams
from your LHD T3 will dip the wrong direction for these righties. The grills are very common
here in the US because virtually all models 86-91 got them except the very few (and rare here)
"L" models sent here in 1990.
Sadly the US-spec rectangular lowbeams have poorly designed reflectors. This is part of the reason
so many T3 enthusiasts here are switching to the cheaper round headlights which can be used in the
early grills and SA grills.
I bought several grill and rectagular headlight sets from an Ebay vendor for 110 EUR. Cost 42 EUR
to ship. These grills also came with the high pressure headlight washers. Seems expensive until
you ask the local dealer to order the e-code lights here. Anyway, I agree that GoWesty shipping is
far out in space. As I mentioned previously, they are probably using UPS as that is the service they
quote of their Ebay auction. As some of you may already know, UPS charges some ridiculous
brokerage fees to ship from country-to-country. DHL has similar problems depending on which of their
services you use. For example, one particularly large item was shipped to me from Germany cost
US$700. The brokerage fees were $504. The Seller had used DHL Cargo. If he had used DHL Express,
the cost would have been $850 but there would be NO brokerage fees! On another example, I sent a
$50 item to Canada via UPS. The brokerage fees were over $100. The same item could have gone USPS
for $45 (no other fees). UPS does offer the vendor such conveniences as site pick-up. They come to
fetch the package. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately, in most cases, the Buyer pays for those
conveniences.
Cheers,
BenT
