New Sticker Placement

Hi Just got a new Syncro sticker for the front from Van Cafe. Can someone help me with placement by providing a measurement from the window seal down and the Vertical seam at the side please..
Thr sticker looks larger than the old one or is it just my eyes?

Sent from Yahoo!7 Mail on Android

Oh that would be from the bottom of the window seal to the top of the SYNCRO writing . Please and Thankyou in advance!

Cheers,

Rowan

Rowan,

Since it sits on a flat portion of the panel, I have shown the dimensions on that flat section.

Les

Thanks again Les for that display.

My next question is about the
4WD stickers of which I have 2.

Whats the story with those was there ever a Factory Positioning, or were these an after market sticker developed by enthusiasts for arbitary placement?

Ive seen them placed on Cab doors and on the Back Hatch.

Any Ideas appreciated..

I was tossing up the Idea of placing them on the Back Rear Side Pannel. Not sure about it now tho.

Rowan,

I don’t have them on mine so we will have to wait for someone who does to come up with some measurements.  They were factory fitted as far as I know, given that many seem to have them, but not to all models.  Phill might have a handle on that.

Les

Rowan, the "syncro" on the front and the "4WD" on the doors is standard factory fit. Alot of people retrofit to the rear hatch including it seems the muller boys on their new deliveries. Greg E

Hi Rowan,
You could of course leave them off altogether and have people wondering why your T3 is so good in the wet, muddy tracks and can rescue itself when you drive off a well submerged causeway with everyone  watching.

The 4WD sticker on the doors and the rear hatch from the factory on later models. I picked mine up from TKM and it already had them. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~pjlander/tyre_carrier.htm

Are you sure about the rear hatch Phill? I have only seen them on muller cars and the odd one placed in different spots around the hatch by owners. I have never seen one on an overseas delivery. Both Rogers Ex syncro and mine were the last batch to come here, mine has had paint on the hatch but Rodgers looked factory to me and I don't think it had a sticker.  Haven't you got a bunch of photos of the car covered in wax? Any of the rear? Greg E

I wonder if some came with stickers on the rear and some didn't? A bit like cigarette lighters and quarter windows. I know that the pre '90s with the Puch badge didn't have them at all.

I'll see if I can find a photo.

Mine (1988 model) had both the front door and rear hatch 4WD stickers.
My rear hatch is still original paint.

My Dad's ex syncro had all 3 too. He bought it new and it came with them
and his was a low spec model with no power steering (this was retro-
fitted later in its life).

The fashion trend (I think coming from USA) is to apply 2WD stickers on syncros.

Then amaze bogged Toyota and Nissan spectators as to your off-road capabilities!

Mark Kofahl is in Gippsland on his way back to Sydney after several weeks away with Deb and the two children.

He is experiencing stiff gear changes and more so when hot.

I thought that it might be fluid level but that’d OK.

Can anyone think of a possible reason?

Lost motion?

Les

Les,

Mark needs to be careful that he does force the gear-stick too much as Ben Croft managed to snap his clean-off.

May be worth checking that the gear stick is still healthy as Ben struggled for a while before his stick completely came off. He gave me all these details @ the Christmas Mid North Coast off-road adventure.

Worth checking the base of the lever under the rubber boot - just in case!

Cheers and best of luck Mark,

Skot
