Thanks Hart. I did not weigh it but 17kg sounds about right. I am very pleased and it makes the Syncro look heaps better.

Have a great day !  Hartmut

Greg,

I just took a sneak peak and found you have the Carat body kit - similar to the Westfalia California T3 syncros and Harmut's Tri-Star. This is a different kit to the other 2wd Trakka I saw which had a much lower style of fibreglass body kit. Yours actually looks like a factory kit apart from the front bumper/ bull bar of course.

Excellent vehicle - its great it is owned by someone who will use and appreciate it.

Cheers,

Skot

Hi Eddie,
Good to talk this morning.
Decided to wait until you have organised transport of the bullbar before giving bank details.
If you can't arrange something immediately I could leave it here until we return at then end of this month.
We will be leaving the Syncro in Noosaville then flying home until it's ready to pick up.

I took the van out the other weekend in the Macedon Ranges. I think it was in shock after spending its early life in NSW and some time in QLD. Even the boot struts (replaced not so long ago) refused to operate in the cold weather. An inoperable heater didn’t help either.

Hi Jon, just a though, if in cold weather you are heating the water in the port water tank, there will be no heating in the cabin. I,m sure that you have worked that one out, it took me by surprise when going down south to meet up with Ken on a very cold winters morning the heating would not work . Can,t remember what i did to get warm...

Thanks Hart. Yes, Trakka missed a trick there. As you rightly point out there is no way to have the cabin heater on, and not also heat the aux water tank at the same time.

The problem I have is that I can’t turn the heater on without the window steaming up and that familiar sticky sweet smell of coolant. So I leave it off for now. Working up the energy and time in the schedule to pull out the dash. The blower motor needs attention as well.

The trip out in the cold and wet did confirm that diff locks and 4wd are working though. Especially when we became locationally challenged in the Wombat State Forest fire / mud trails (or lost as the co-pilot / better half announced) with kids asleep in the back. Never trust Google Maps! Since invested in some decent paper maps for the van.

Jon.
