Video 3 Rover Trail

Hi Skot I have had a reply from Ian and he is able to do the mod. So maybe list mine as "LHS offset 48L custom fittings" or something and I will confirm the details with Ian. He can also do the ladder in the centre. Do we have pricing on the standard ladder yet? Thanks for all your work Scott, I know what a headache group buys are. Definitely owe you a beer after this one. Greg

Brent,

There is no hurry this stage and I want to wait for more photos of the ladder from Ian with the frills (such as the jerry can holder or bike rack or rear shelf etc) This should be here later this week all going to plan for Ian.

I am still chasing up Hamish so see if he wants one as well - I don't want to leave anyone out who wants one as they are expensive to bring in individually but as a bulk shipment they aren't so bad.

Cheers,

Skot

Greg,

I will put you on the list for the 48L tank (assume its for fuel?).

You are welcome to contact Ian directly for any changes to the design - however, this may cause him to change extra for the proposed changes?

Ian's email address is:

I think Ian has made the ladders to suit either side - not the middle but I am sure he could do a special for you.

Hi All,

Latest revised list of tanks etc:
1) Steve Clark - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
2) Peter Schweinsberg - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit
3) Hamish?  - 1 tank plus water fitting kit
4) Peter Kolevas - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
5) Roger Bayley - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L) - 1 rear tailgate ladder
6) Paul Nevin - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
7) Scott Pitcher - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)

That's 10 tanks so far including Hamish who I will chase up to see if he still wants one.

I am checking on other forums to see if we can scratch up any more tanks so we can get that better shipping cost.

Cheers,

I was chasing Ian for the version that has a foldable carrier for extra jerry cans or other stuff etc which he is organising for some syncro nutters in the USA - hence that is still in development but near completion along with some rock sliders or sill savers which I was hoping to get prices on as well.

Hi All,

Latest revised list of tanks etc:
1) Steve Clark - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
2) Peter Schweinsberg - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit
3) Hamish?  - 1 tank plus water fitting kit?
4) Peter Kolevas - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
5) Roger Bayley - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L) - 1 rear tailgate ladder
6) Paul Nevin - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
7) Colin Bennett - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel & 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
8) Scott Pitcher - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)

That's 12 tanks so far including Hamish who I am struggling to contact, but we are over the required mark to get our cheaper transport with or without Hamish so worst case now - Peter S. is still to confirm his interest.

There are also a few punters keen on the ladders.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi Scott,
Since seeing you installation and this SA ladder with two "Jerry Cans" idea,
and considering how often I need long range fuel, I would like to put myself down for
the rear door ladder and brackets for two "Jerry Cans" and get you to cut me off the list for a belly tank.

If you need someone to pick the consignment up from the container terminal and be the point for picking up individual orders from, I'm happy to put up my hand. Hopefully we can avoid late fees this time.

Peter

Greg,

Attached are a few photos of the ladders and jerry can holders that Ian just got back from the powder coaters and quickly fitted for his travels where he is heading off today.

The pricing I think I mentioned before was $200.00 per ladder plus $25 per jerry can holder (I think). Shipping is $50 each.

Anyway, I will confirm this when I check with Ian on Monday.

Cheers,

Scott

There is no hurry this stage and I want to wait for more photos of the ladder from Ian with the frills (such as the jerry can holder or bike rack or rear shelf etc) This should be here later this week all going to plan for Ian.

I am still chasing up Hamish so see if he wants one as well - I don't want to leave anyone out who wants one as they are expensive to bring in individually but as a bulk shipment they aren't so bad.

Cheers,

As I suspected, the ladder was set loose for the photo but is designed specifically for either LHS or RHS so this will need to be specified when ordering.

The ladders are $200 plus $50 shipping in Australian Dollars and they weigh just 4kg. They are made from powdercoated steel which should survive quite well if not damaged. There is an option for stainless steel with a powdercoated finish but this would be $300 plus $50 shipping.

There are a few options for attachments with a separate jerry can holder and possibly a bike rack.

See attached photos of the Gary Lee version which is similar.

Hi Scott, Concerning the ladder fitted to the syncro, a few queries come to mind ...

All up weight?

Does the ladder weight cause the rear door gas lifts to struggle to open fully, if so, may need stronger gas lifts?

For anti corrosion, is it manufactured from stainless steel or aluminium or mild steel? Powder coated?

As seen in the pic, the ladder fitted to the syncro appears not to be perpendicular to the vehicle. If so, one or both top mounting plates need rejigging to achieve perpendicular ladder rails/level steps.

Cost?

Thanks Scott,
I was wondering whether there would be a bike carrier.
I don't think that I need one, but will decide when I see the pics.

Thanks Peter.

I was waiting to see if you wanted a tank or not before proceeding with the order.

I will chase up the order now with Ian and get final pricing on the ladder bits - he also has a bike carrier that can be attached to the ladder which he will be sending photos through by Wednesday hopefully.

Cheers,

Skot

Hi Scott,
Since seeing you installation and this SA ladder with two "Jerry Cans" idea,
and considering how often I need long range fuel, I would like to put myself down for
the rear door ladder and brackets for two "Jerry Cans" and get you to cut me off the list for a belly tank.

If you need someone to pick the consignment up from the container terminal and be the point for picking up individual orders from, I'm happy to put up my hand. Hopefully we can avoid late fees this time.

Cheers,

Scott

Cheers,

Skot

You are welcome to contact Ian directly for any changes to the design - however, this may cause him to change extra for the proposed changes?

I think Ian has made the ladders to suit either side - not the middle but I am sure he could do a special for you.

Hi All,

Latest revised list of tanks etc:
1) Steve Clark - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
2) Peter Schweinsberg - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit
3) Hamish? - 1 tank plus water fitting kit
4) Peter Kolevas - 1 tank plus fuel fitting kit (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)
5) Roger Bayley - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L) - 1 rear tailgate ladder
6) Paul Nevin - 2 tanks plus fitting kits - 1 fuel 1 water (RHS offset for VIN - 48L)

Cheers,

Please note again the ladder rack options in the photos I just posted are Gary Lee Racks versions - not Ian's ones.

He will be taking some photos of his version shortly and sending them through.

Ken,

As I suspected, the ladder was set loose for the photo but is designed specifically for either LHS or RHS so this will need to be specified when ordering.

The ladders are $200 plus $50 shipping in Australian Dollars and they weigh just 4kg. They are made from powdercoated steel which should survive quite well if not damaged. There is an option for stainless steel with a powdercoated finish but this would be $300 plus $50 shipping.

There are a few options for attachments with a separate jerry can holder and possibly a bike rack.

See attached photos of the Gary Lee version which is similar.

Cheers,

Skot

Hi Scott, Concerning the ladder fitted to the syncro, a few queries come to mind ...

All up weight?

Does the ladder weight cause the rear door gas lifts to struggle to open fully, if so, may need stronger gas lifts?

For anti corrosion, is it manufactured from stainless steel or aluminium or mild steel? Powder coated?

As seen in the pic, the ladder fitted to the syncro appears not to be perpendicular to the vehicle. If so, one or both top mounting plates need rejigging to achieve perpendicular ladder rails/level steps.

Cost?

Cheers.

I like them too.

I was chasing Ian for the version that has a foldable carrier for extra jerry cans or other stuff etc which he is organising for some syncro nutters in the USA - hence that is still in development but near completion along with some rock sliders or sill savers which I was hoping to get prices on as well.

I will chase Ian for those prices too.
